Service Overview

A real install. Not a tail-light fix.

A Level 2 EV charger is a 240V dedicated circuit, usually 50A or 60A, run from your panel to the garage or driveway, terminated in a wall connector or NEMA 14-50 outlet. Done right, it’s permitted, inspected, labeled, and warrantied. Done wrong, it’s an insurance claim waiting to happen.

We install Tesla wall connectors, ChargePoint, JuiceBox, EVoCharge, and the NEMA 14-50 outlet path for owners who want to use the mobile connector. Every install starts with a load calc — if your panel can’t handle a new 50A circuit without exceeding your service capacity, we’ll either recommend a load-management module (Span, dcbel, etc.) or quote a panel upgrade alongside the charger.

Most residential installs are a one-day job. Distance from the panel to the charger location is the biggest variable. A 30-foot run inside the same wall stack is fast. A 100-foot underground run from the house to a detached garage takes longer and costs more. We measure, quote, and document every one before we touch a wall.

We also coordinate the permit and the inspection. Sevier, Knox, and Blount counties all require an electrical permit on EV charger circuits. The inspector visits, we walk it through, you sign off. You don’t talk to a government office.

What’s Included

What you get on a real EV install.

Load calculation first

NEC 220-compliant load calc on your existing panel before we recommend a circuit size. If your panel is at capacity, we tell you up front — no surprises on install day.

Tesla wall connector

Factory-recommended hardline install. 60A circuit standard. We can do up to 80A on a 200A panel for the fastest possible home charging.

J1772 universal chargers

ChargePoint Home Flex, JuiceBox 40, EVoCharge, Wallbox Pulsar Plus — whatever brand you want, we’ll wire it.

NEMA 14-50 outlet

For owners who want to use their mobile connector or have flexibility for future hardware. Code-compliant 50A circuit on a dedicated breaker.

Long-run + outdoor installs

Detached garages, driveway pedestals, underground 100+ foot runs — all done with proper conduit, weatherproof boxes, and protected circuits.

Load management for older panels

Span Smart Panel, dcbel, or Wallbox Pulsar Plus dynamic load balancing — lets you charge fast without a panel upgrade if your existing service is at capacity.

Tesla wall connector EV charger installed in Sevierville, TN

Volt Pro quoted my Tesla wall connector at $1,650 all-in. Showed up Tuesday, ran the 60A circuit, mounted the unit, walked the inspector through Wednesday. The other quote I got was $3,200 and didn’t even include the permit.

Common Questions

Five things we get asked every week.

What’s involved in installing a Level 2 EV charger?
A 240V dedicated circuit, usually 50A or 60A, run from your panel to the garage or driveway, terminated in a wall connector (Tesla, ChargePoint, etc.) or NEMA 14-50 outlet. We pull the permit, run the circuit, install the unit, schedule the inspection. Most installs are a one-day job for $1,200 to $2,400.
Do I need a panel upgrade to install an EV charger?
Sometimes. We run a load calc first. If your panel can handle a new 50A or 60A circuit without exceeding your service capacity, no upgrade needed. If you’re at capacity, we either recommend a load-management module ($600-$1,500) or a 200A panel upgrade ($2,400-$4,800) alongside the charger install.
How much does a Tesla wall connector install cost?
In East Tennessee, $1,200 to $2,400 for a typical install. The variables are panel-to-charger distance, whether the run is inside or outside, and whether your panel needs work. The Tesla wall connector hardware is $475-$525 retail; the rest is labor + materials + permit + inspection.
Can you install a NEMA 14-50 outlet instead of a wall connector?
Yes. The NEMA 14-50 path is cheaper ($800-$1,400) and lets you use the Tesla mobile connector or any portable Level 2 charger. Tradeoff: the mobile connector is rated for 32A continuous (40A max breaker) so charging is slower. Wall connectors run 48A-80A.
Do you pull the permit?
Yes. Sevier, Knox, Blount, and Jefferson counties all require an electrical permit on EV charger installs. We pull it, schedule the inspection, walk the inspector through. You don’t call a government office.
